August was a fantastic month and produced the sort of results I would be expecting during the summer months.
A steady stream of smaller priced winners kept us ticking over but the big profit came from 2 big priced advised selections, Royal Artillery 16/1 and Richard Pankhurst 14/1 both trained by John Gosden.
They helped us achieve a 50 % strike rate and put us top of the Racing Index proofing tables for the last month.
As I have said many times before, there is no logic or reason as to how results pan out. Whether it’s been a good or bad month, my selection process is no different, and I still try to apply the same theory to the selections whether they win or lose. The long term aim is to win more than you lose.
This week is the St Leger meeting at Doncaster which always produces good racing. Following the rain yesterday the going has now changed. The tracks will now take longer to dry out as we enter Autumn and this is something that we have to be aware of with our selection process as we look to continue our fine form of last month.
